1月11日、鏡開きの凛とした朝、私は新しい師匠のもとで、今年最初の茶会である『初釜』の静寂へと足を踏み入れました。裏千家の伝統を物語る『花びら餅』の象徴的な甘みから、床の間を飾る禅語の掛け軸と椿に至るまで、あらゆる細部がその伝統の証（あかし）でした。何より師の老いた手によって練り上げられた『濃茶』に心を打たれました。そこには真摯に歩まれた茶の湯の道、そして師匠の人生そのものが、一碗の中に凝縮（蒸留）されていたからです。師弟の絆の真髄、そして茶室の神聖な静寂の中で形作られた静かなる新年の決意をお伝えいたします。

On the crisp morning of January 11th, Kagami-biraki, I stepped into the profound stillness of "Hatsugama," the year’s inaugural tea gathering, under my new master. From the symbolic sweetness of "Hanabira Mochi" to the Zen scrolls and camellias gracing the alcove—every detail bore testament to the Urasenke tradition. Above all, my heart was deeply moved by the "Koicha" (thick tea), kneaded by the master’s aged hands. In that single bowl, the entirety of a life earnestly dedicated to the Way of Tea, indeed the master's very existence, was powerfully distilled. I will convey the true essence of the master-disciple bond and the silent New Year's resolutions forged within the sacred hush of the tea room.

年の瀬の支度は、単なる家事ではありません。それは、来るべき新しい年に向けて、心を「ハレ」の状態へとチューニングしていく静かな儀式です。
11月ごろから出回る縁起物の「大福茶（おおぶくちゃ）」を注文し、今年はそれに合わせて、清々しい白山陶器の器を新調しました。
