でも・・・もしかしたら、片思い？あるいは、禁じられた恋だったのでしょうか？

わたしには、折り取ってしまった梅の枝を手に、なかば呆然と立ちすくむ貴公子の姿が目に浮かぶのです。
かの人への恋心は「知る人ぞ知る」、つまり誰にも言えない、気づかれてもいけない、秘められたもの。
もし、この梅の枝を持って行ったりしたら、もはや秘め続けることはできなくなってしまう。
伝えたいのに、伝えられない切ない想い。
実は今でも、こういうことはあるのでしょう。

泉さん、コメントありがとうございます。幼い頃過ごした家の中庭に梅の木があって、ちょうど祖母の居間から障子越しに眺めることが出来ました。梅の花は祖母との思い出の花でもあります。子どもの頃はあまり好きではなかったのですが、人生経験を積むほどに好きになりました。一年で最も寒い時期に果敢に咲く梅の花に、どれだけ慰められたか知れません。今年は開花が早いので、あちこちの梅園で見頃を迎えているようですね。
